    Important COVID Update

    SYHC/Barons 8U Families,

Covid cases are increasing across the state and within the hockey community, including a few quarantined 8U teams, Shakers program minus two teams and older Barons teams.  Our number one priority is the safety and health of our players and families.  The other goal is to keep our kids on the ice.

The following rules will apply for the 8U program effective Monday, 10/19/2020:

    1. Players are to come fully dressed to practice or please dress them in the parking lot.  Players and parents are not to enter the arena until 15 minutes before your schedule ice time.  There are locker rooms but this should eliminate some close proximity risks.

    2. No more players that are not in the program are to be on the ice with the mite teams, example- older siblings that come out to skate.

    3. We recommend that all 8U players do not skate with other groups outside of SYHC/BARONS 8U program as this increases exposure risk for all the 100 mites.

    4. Please wear your masks at all times in the rink and also, please keep your players masks on until they go on the ice.

    5. Please do not bring your child to practice if they have any symptoms- Fever(>100 degrees), chills, cough, fatigue, headache, sore throat, congestion, runny nose, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing.  They should not return the to rink until they are 24 hours symptom free prior to their next skate.  These same symptoms are for parents as well- please do not come to the rink with any of the above and please consult a health care provider.

We understand this is a frustrating time.  Our goal is to protect the players and families and to keep the kids on the ice.  The rules might seem strict, but we are lucky the state of Ohio still has hockey.  Certain states will not allow games, have limited practices, and will not allow traveling for any of the hockey teams.

    Thanks for your understanding,
